THE YEAR 2018 - Your Achievements Unlocked As An Entrepreneur
or, As A Highly Paid Company Department Head
YOU are a new UHNW or HNW Woman with an online presence. You are liking your affluence. Your opulent lifestyle. Your new ventures and meetings with other like-minded women. You are different from the traditional Westernised imagery of what a wealthy, influential woman should look like. Speak like. Behave like. You have done things YOUR way and accomplished this position in life through sheer hard work and trawling through the bullshit of the expectations / put downs by others. Your difference was not a hindrance, in fact it was the catalyst to your fortune. This is what ‘they’ did not want you to see, to experience, to become. This powerful, rich, influential woman who is DIFFERENT. Who is YOU.
So, what were your achievements during 2018 and into 2019?
1. First High-End Membership Site
You were not trained as an Internet buff, geek or guru. But understand some fundamental aspects of the Internet. Even if most of the stuff that goes on with the WWW is still a muddle to you. New things are added and taken away in the blink of an eye. Softwares and websites are updated, dissected, reviewed or closed down. You have already arrived at the point where you see the benefit of membership sites (some people call them Continuity Programmes, or Recurring Revenue Engines) and the creation of one is vital for your longevity in business. Whatever you call it you needed it. As a newbie to all things Internet, you started off; as most new entrepreneurs do, with a low priced or free membership site. You had to start somewhere in order to build momentum of your service/product. During 2018 your ‘Low-End’ recurring revenue engine earned you £1,000,000+ in clean cash and it has turned out to be the most effortless service you have in your portfolio.
But lately? Lately you have been thinking of taking the next step. The next step being creating a ‘High-End’ membership site. Scary. Really scary for you. Your fears crept in and surrounded you for a while. The loudest fear ringing in your ears was “What if I launch this High-End service and absolutely no-one purchases into it. That all I get is silence. Like a ghost town.”
At the end of 2018 going into 2019 you finally did it.
You launched a High-End membership service/product. It was totally new to you. It was a new concept that could be a Hit or Miss. It was untested and you had zero results over two weeks. Then you ended up adding 10 new members to this new ‘High-End’ membership site.
Your successful continuity program that has been going strong during 2018 is churning out a healthy profit for you, at a monthly membership cost of £’x’. But now you have upped your game and the ‘High-End’ membership site is at a monthly cost of £’xxx’ which to you is a distinctly heart attack inducing situation to be in. It frightens you, yet it stimulates you. It excites you. That new customers want to be associated with you and your service/product. That you are exactly what they have been looking for and they are willing to pay the £’xxx’ (or more) membership cost, but only on the premise that you can deliver and in the time stated. They, like you, do not have money to throw away.
The backdrop to all of this is that you had sat on this idea for the entire part of 2018. The only thing that stopped you from pulling the plug and throwing the idea away was having this question in your head:
“What can I offer every month that will justify people paying every month?”
You realised that when you are planning to offer a membership program that asks people to pay you on automatic every month, this is the first and perhaps the only question you need to answer before you take the blind leap of faith.
You knew that if you did not have a solid answer, then you needed to create a ‘one and done’ product instead and be done with it. You understood that it would be easier to sell too. In comparison to a ‘High-End’ membership package.
So for you, this new journey with your FIRST ‘High-End’ membership site is thrilling. You were able to harness the enthusiasm with a solid value proposition, plus a robust ladder of belief, that enabled the selling of the membership site as fairly effortless.
Your lesson to yourself: It is essential to build a robust ladder of belief, because once a customer believes in you, they buy from you.
2. First Hands Off Launch
As already mentioned YOU are on a HIGH with your new baby. Your ‘High-End’ membership site. A well deserved pat on the back and what a way to enter 2019 on. Be proud of yourself. You worked damn hard for this and it cost you some mental anguish in the making of it.
You took the bull by the horns and allowed greater help from your new team. For this new service/product required help in a plethora of areas.
Hands on help and consultation was there for you in:
+ content creation,
+ promotion and ad runs,
+ writing emails,
+ sales page creation,
+ and the general nitty-gritty of day-to-day operations
Solely because this is ‘High-End’ you had to ensure that the right type of customers were coming through the programme. So your team had to ensure certain benchmarks were reached by prospective customers who would be able to last the 12 month course. This included:
- Pre-sale questions
- Vetting of the prospective customers
- Keeping an eye on the member’s areas in social media and member’s areas on your website
- Plus, the usual running of a service/product
AND most importantly ensuring that everything is under control and your sanity is in check
For you this is a HUGE deal. This is a unique journey. Never experienced before.
Usually you have your hands on everything. Even looking over your own shoulder to make sure that things are going well. This time you have delegated more and you feel a level of anxiety about it. Your name, your neck and the reputation of the business are on the line if it all goes pear shaped. It is natural to have anxieties following on to something as huge as this, especially when it comes from not knowing if everything is working well AND taking someone else’s word on it. This is quite a roller-coaster of an experience for you. But you have this. Trust yourself with the steps that you are taking. Escape from the anxieties. Succeed from the heart and head.
3. Working Like You Were In A Chain Gang – No More!
You had spent more than enough years working hard. Working as though you were in a chain gang. Day and night. Night and day. For pittance. Now that has all changed and you can afford nice things for yourself and those that you care for. You can even take a well deserved holiday. A holiday that YOU actually want and not what the holiday brochure says you must have as a cheap packaged deal. You can add bits to your holiday. You have the FREEDOM to have a holiday and live with the knowledge that you have the finance to do what you want to do.
+ NO more budgeting.
+ NO more waiting in line in the cold or heat. (unless your holiday is at the Earth poles, or you are holidaying in the Sahara)
+ NO more waiting for transfers in a stinky waiting room where the rubbish bin is overflowing.
+ NO more dodgy old suitcases with bits fraying around the edges and the wheels worn down so hard that you are actually pulling it on bald wheels (or more accurately the base edge of the suitcase) Often having to carry it as the embarrassment of pulling the thing along is too much to bear.
A proper holiday where everything comes together and you feel completely comfortable and free to fully enjoy yourself, not thinking about work. Even if you have a brand new laptop secreted within your large handbag to check your emails or operational activities every now and again.
Soon you will arrive at that point in time where you shall have a holiday with a clear head and no more checking emails and website operations. How does that sound to you?
4. When You Show Up
During 2018 you spent so much time behind the screen, camping out at your desk. The keyboard was your new lover as you had never touched anything so much and for so long during the 24 hours.
Now you are preparing to show up in real life. Face to face with people. Real people. Not avatars. Not brand names, fancy names, or brand images or fancy images. Real people who eat, sleep and fart. Your first public appearance and it is scary. Not Madison Square Gardens, or Wembley Arena, but a nice little boutique hotel meeting room in the city. Exhilarating? YES! Unnerving? YES! Drug induced? Erm….YES! Adrenalin pumping it definitely is.
Once you get the fix and you succumb to it, you want to do it again and again.
You know that the people who paid for their ticket and turned up, want to be there with YOU. They want to be a part of something special. Something created by your hands, mind and heart.
+ They want to be with like-minded people.
+ They want to make new connections with this new tribe of individuals.
+ They want to make conversations with their faces and body language, not just with their fingertips tapping away at a keyboard in an online chat.
+ They want the REAL McCOY! (and I am not talking Star Trek)
+ THEY WANT YOU!
When this happens in a room full of people who want to be together because of a commonality YOU WILL:
+ feel a buzz,
+ feel the laughter,
+ feel the energy from brain storming,
+ feel so much positive energy (the greatest drug of all).
YOUR TRIBE will hold on to every word that you speak (so make sure that you do not go off piste and start behaving like someone that they have no idea about, as they already know you and your personality from your emails, blogs and videos). YOU will command their undivided attention. Even if you are SHY, an INTROVERT, or have AUTISM.
Be sure that your tribe will have travelled from various countries around the world solely to be with you.
Some will be managing jet lag.
Some would have left behind a partner, children and pets just to be with you.
Getting this event of yours on the road is a HUGE milestone. So well done you! Well done indeed!
To end this series on YOUR 2018, be glad, be emotionally happy, joyous, blissful that you managed to do it. Have gratitude for the incredible journey that you made and the journeys yet to come. There were times when you were in the unrelenting hurly-burly of everything. Everything happening all at once and commanding your attention. Emails. Blogs. Videos. Webinars. Social Media Groups. Skype calls. Telephone calls. So on and so forth.
You managed to bring it back from the brink. Just. (never again you tell yourself). You showed yourself as:
+ professionally capable
+ stimulating and delightful
+ chilled out and bad ass
+ a captain of YOUR ship
FINALLY
One of the core things about 2018 was the discovery of CHOICE.
You realised that a choice does not have to be based upon solely having a luxury trip or a fancy cruise just because you are affluent. Just because you are an UHNW or HNW woman. But that choice is what you need most, at that moment in time.
You realise that choice is about flirting with a possibility (or a series of possibilities). Even if that possibility seems silly, weird or banal to others (since when did ‘others’ control your life!?). This is what YOUR business did for YOU in 2018. It gave you the ability to make a choice.
Choice gave you the ability to play with possibilities.
Conversely, not having the ability to live with a choice of your own but that of someone else is not for you. You are a woman with your own mind.
In addition, you are not interested in having to tolerate the status quo because no other possibility exists. You are a woman with your own mind.
Furthermore you have realised that you really do not have to settle for ‘maybe’, or ‘not sure’, or ‘it will do’ when “WOW!” is not on offer. You can take it or leave it with a strong conviction that whatever you decide is best for you. You are a woman with your own mind.
And that choice, that possibility has been the biggest gift of 2018.
So well done you for 2018. Very well done indeed!
